Aug 3rd, 2010 – Johannesburg. The 5th annual GSport gala ceremony  awarded Fabienne Lanz for her sports writing skills, Fabienne was also a runner up to the overall award for ‘Woman of the Year 2010’.

GSport is an online initiative whose aim is to raise the profile of South African women in sport and to encourage Corporate South Africa to back female athletes.

“It was a tough decision”, the judge commented “In the end Rosanne Hodge clinched it overall”

Fabienne received her award for ” The 2010 Personal Account Writer” as the judges thought she has done an outstanding job promoting herself through new social media avenues including her website, Facebook and Twitter.

“I am very honored to receive this award and would like to thank GSport for a fantastic award ceremony” commented Fabienne.

Fabienne returns to Cape Town on 6th Aug for round 3 of the 2010 Super Rok National Championship.

“Cape Town is a fast and technical track, we reach top speeds down the long back straight, which allows for fantastic overtaking opportunities” Fabienne says.

The drivers who will represent South Africa at the 2010 Rok Cup Final in Italy will be announced at this event.

Fabienne’s schedule is a full on affair as she attends National Woman’s day, on 9 August, at Zwartkops Raceway, to coach and advise other female drivers. The day will be filled with high octane activities including, go-kart driving, drifting displays, skid pan sessions, high speed driving on the main circuit with the instructors.
